Bethany was the first female three sport standout at Ponaganset High School. She is one of the most decorated athletes in Ponaganset’s storied athletic history. Beth attended Ponaganset High School from 1988 to 1992. While at Ponaganset High School Beth earned All-League and All State honors in three sports: cross country (1st Team “89 & “91), basketball (1st Team ‘90 & ’92), and volleyball (2nd Team ’90) She served as captain of all three teams during her tenure at Ponaganset. She scored over 1000 points in basketball for her career while only playing three seasons, missing her junior year due to ACL surgery. She was the recipient of the Brian Fell Memorial Scholarship in 1992. She won two state cross-country championships and was the champion of the Class C race her senior season. During her career at Ponaganset was on six All State Teams, accomplishing this in all three sports she competed in at least once.
Beth later attended Bryant University on a full basketball scholarship. She went on to serve as a captain of the Bryant University Basketball Team her junior and senior years. She scored over 1000 points for the Lady Bulldogs, holds three steals records and is a member of the Bryant University Athletic Hall of Fame. After graduation from Bryant, Bethany served as an assistant basketball coach at Bryant University, The University of South Carolina – Aiken and The University of Maryland-Baltimore County. She now serves as Associate Athletic Director at Bryant University in charge of compliance and is the senior women’s administrator. She is married to Ryan Wandyes and they have two daughters, Kelsie and Cailyn.
